Note :
lf the leadscrew is out, use the finger to push it back. The leadscrew of your new pen might not be out. Only when the pen is attached the cartridge holder, press down the injection button and the leadscrew will move forward.
Take a new Gan&Lee 3mL insulin cartridge. Check the name and color of the cartridge label to ensure that it contains the type of insulin you need. Check the insulin injection of the formulation, expiration date, appearance without cracks or damage.
Hold the cartridge holder and insert the cartridge in as illustrated.
Line up the cartridge holder with the pen body straight,and secure together. Then use alcohol swab to wipe rubber seal.
Note:
The leadscrew may not move forward if the cartridge holder is not attached properly and you cannot get your required dose.

Screw the needle straight tightly onto the pen.
Remove the external needle guard and internal needle guard of the needle. Throw the internal needle guard away. Do not discard the external needle guard, so that it can be used to remove the needle after injection.
Point the needle upwards. Tap the cartridge gently to collect air at the top for removal.
Push injection button until you see insulin squirt from the needle tip. The priming is completed when you see insulin squirt.
The injection priming has not been finished if you only see a few drops of insulin.
If you don't see a stream of insulin squirt, repeat 4-6 steps until you see it. Do not try to inject if no insulin appears.
Warning:
Usually, several injection priming may be required for the first use of the cartridge. If you still don't see insulin squirt after severaI injection priming,the needle may be clogged, change the needle and prime again. If insulin does not appear after priming repeatedly, do not use the pen. Contact your supplier to get a new pen.
Make sure the dose window shows "0" before you start.
Rotate dose selector to choose dose you need.
Reverse dose selector to change dose if overdosed.
For exmaple: 18U shown in the figure.
Note:
You can select up to 60 units per iinjection. Always use dose window to see the selected dose. Do not use the insulin scale on the cartridge holder because it only shows the approximately volume left in your cartridge.
Insert needle into your skin as per the injection technique suggested by your healthcare professional.
As shown in the figure, place your thumb on the injection button firstly; then slowly press the injection button until the button cannot be pushed forward,
When the number shown on dose window is "0", you have injected enough medicine. Hold the injection button for five seconds and then release the push button. Then pull out needle.
Warning:
Please do not press the injection button too fast or too hard, it may lead injection too fast to cause pain feeling for the patient.
Note:
The set dose can exceed the remaining insulin in cartridge. The number on dose window should be "0" after injection. Otherwise, you have not injected enough insulin. Please remember this number, Remove needle and empty cartridge. Insert a new cartridge as the step 1, and make injection priming as the step 2. Then dial dose knob to your required dose amount. Please do not press the injection button too fast during injecting, which may lead injection too fast to cause pain feeling.
Push the external needle guard carefully without touching the needle. Never try to put the internal needle guard back on the needle (follow your healthcare professional instructions)
Carefully twist the capped needle off and discard the needle, as directed by healthcare professional..
Note:
To prevent the air from entering the cartridge, do NOT store the pen with needle attached.
⦁ The injection site should be selected from the site rich in subcutaneous fat, as shown in the orange area.
⦁ Injections should be rotated between different sites to avoid repetitive tissue trauma.
⦁ Avoid injecting through clothing.
⦁ Rate of insulin absorption at different injection sites: abdomen > upper arm > thigh > buttock.
Lift the skin with your thumb, index finger and middle finger instead of your entire hand. Be sure not to lift the skin too hard to cause the skin to turn white or sore.
